For the European x-ray free electron laser (XFEL) a split-and-delay unit based on geometrical wavefront beam splitting and multilayer mirrors is built which covers the range of photon energies from 5 keV up to 20 keV. Maximum delays between Δτ=±2.

The use of soft X-rays near the carbon edge of absorption (270-300 eV) greatly enhances studies in various branches of science. However, the choice of reflecting coatings for mirrors operating in free-electron and X-ray free-electron laser (FEL and X

Ultra precise reflective and diffractive optical elements like blazed diffraction gratings or ultra precise mirrors of flat, elliptic, parabolic, or other shapes have become key components in today s synchrotron optics. These optical components featu

We present a study in which multilayers of different periodicity (from 2.5 to 5.5 nm), composition (W/Si, Mo/Si, Pd/B 4 C , Ru/B 4 C ), and numbers of layers have been compared. Particularly, we chose mirrors with similar intrinsic quality (roughness

We present the design and instrumentation of a novel holography endstation for the P10 coherence beamline at PETRA III at DESY. The experimental imaging scheme is based on a highly coherent and divergent (cone) beam illumination, achieved by fixed cu
