IntroductionThe perception of phonemes is guided by both low-level acoustic cues and high-level linguistic context. However, differentiating between these two types of processing can be challenging. In this study, we explore the utility of pupillomet

This book has it all and can truly be considered the definitive implant textbook. As with its predecessor, the authors provide a prosthodontic perspective to dozens of aspects of implant treatment, from the biologic mechanisms of osseointegration to

ObjectiveNinety percent of cochlear implant (CI) users are interested in improving their music perception. However, only few objective behavioral and neurophysiological tests have been developed for tracing the development of music discrimination ski

Cochlear implants (CIs) are optimized for speech perception but poor in conveying musical sound features such as pitch, melody, and timbre. Here, we investigated the early development of discrimination of musical sound features after cochlear implant

Music listening experiences can be enhanced with tactile vibrations. However, it is not known which parameters of the tactile vibration must be congruent with the music to enhance it. Devices that aim to enhance music with tactile vibrations often re

Our project investigates whether vibro-tactile stimulation can enhance music in cochlear implant (CI) users. A first experiment with non-CI users aimed to show how congruences between auditory and vibro-tactile stimulation contribute to vibro-tactile

We consider how different choices of kinetic energy in Hamiltonian Monte Carlo affect algorithm performance. To this end, we introduce two quantities which can be easily evaluated, the composite gradient and the implicit noise. Results are establishe
