In this paper, we demonstrate fabrication and characterization of Ge-doped flat fibres. The Ge-doped flat fibre was fabricated from a 6 mol% Ge-doped preform. The flat fibre was successfully fabric...

We propose a method to modulate THz radiations using a piezoelectric micromachined device. We experimentally demonstrate that the modulated THz pulse after reflection on the device is proportional to the first-order derivative of the THz signal.

The rapid growth of information technology is closely linked to our ability to modulate and demodulate a signal, whether in the frequency or in the time domain. Recent demonstrations of terahertz (THz) modulation involve active semiconductor metamate

We propose a simple method to differentiate a THz pulse using a piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer (PMUT). We demonstrate with simulations that the modulated THz signal after PMUT is proportional to the first-order derivative of the TH

An approach to obtain single-mode operation on a semirectangular large core area Flat Fiber (FF) slab waveguide is proposed. A new design of FF with two defect eye holes is presented, and its single-mode guiding is analyzed by simulation. To validate

We demonstrate a new technique for characterizing thin film electro-optic (EO) materials. This method is based on resolving the electric field distributions in the near-field region of a split ring resonator (SRR) designed for the terahertz (THz) fre

We present a new method to characterize thin-film electro-optic materials. The method is based on resolving the electric and/or magnetic field distributions in the near-field region of a split-ring resonator (SRR) designed for the terahertz (THz) fre
