Forty-eight freshly extracted human teeth were bevelled with high or low speed fissure burs and then retrofilled using zinc or non-zinc containing amalgam. The teeth were stained, photographed and examined for cracks at time of bevelling at amalgam p

Photometric units in Australia are currently derived from power measurements made with a roomtemperature electrical-substitution radiometer. This basis has been transferred to a cryogenic radiometer. The cryogenic radiometer was used to calibrate the

Effects of non-normal incidence and finite angular beam width on silicon photodiode responsivity comparisons are modelled and compared with measurements. These effects may be significant if the photodiodes being compared have different oxide layer th

The gamma ray branching ratios for the reactions T(d, γ)5He, D(d, γ)4He, 3He(d, γ)5 Li have been measured between center of mass energies of 25 to 100 keV. The branching ratios are observed to be roughly constant over the energy range of the measu

In measurements of the radiance or the spectral radiances of a source, a common procedure is to image the source on an opaque screen containing a small field aperture and to measure or analyse spectrally the flux passed. The area sampled is defined b

The branching ratio GAMMA/sub ..gamma..//GAMMA/sub p/ for the d+d reaction has been measured for deuteron bombarding energies ranging from 50 to 150 keV. The branching ratio is found to be roughly constant over this energy range and the best value is

A new NML scale of spectral irradiance has been realized for the wavelength range 350-800 nm. The first step was to calibrate as a standard of relative spectral radiance a cavity radiator made from tungsten foil and operated at about 2600 K. Filter r

Nuclear reactions of interest in fusion research often possess a branch yielding prompt emission of gamma radiation in excess of 15 MeV which can be exploited to provide a new fusion reaction diagnostic having applications similar to conventional neu

New values for the quantum yield of silicon in the 3 to 5 eV spectral region are derived from reflectance and photoresponse measurements on oxide/p+/n/n+ photodiode structures. The new values fall between high and low estimates derived from a recent
