The wavefront measurement of a light beam is a complex task, which often requires a series of spatially resolved intensity measurements. For instance, a detector array may be used to measure the local phase gradient in the transverse plane of the unk

We present a full-field quantum imaging scheme using a quantum illumination protocol that exploits the spatial correlations between entangled photon-pairs. In doing so we exhibit an advantage for this scheme over the corresponding classical scheme in

Significance The emergence of “negative” frequencies in physical systems is often accompanied by intriguing consequences. For example, supersonic motion between a source and an observer leads to a negative Doppler-shifted frequency, the physical
The production of pairs of entangled photons simply by focusing a laser beam onto a crystal with a nonlinear optical response was used to test quantum mechanics and to open new approaches in imaging. The development of the latter was enabled by the e

How can quantum mechanics deliver better imaging performance? Parametric down-conversion sources produce pairs of photons that are correlated in many degrees of freedom, including their spatial positions. By using a camera to detect these pairs of ph

Spatially coherent helically phased light beams carry orbital angular momentum (OAM) and contain phase singularities at their centre. Destructive interference at the position of the phase singularity means the intensity at this point is necessarily z

Using quantum states of light allows classical limits of imaging to be surpassed. Using entangled photon pairs we show a contrast enhancement compared to classical imaging techniques.

We use an imaging setup based on heralded imaging to test a Bell-CHSH inequality within images. Based on a single full-field image accumulated by a camera we find that the Bell inequality is violated.

We report the violation of a Bell inequality within full-field coincidence images of a phase object probed by entangled photons.
The violation of a Bell inequality not only attests to the nonclassical nature of a system but also holds a very uni
