Based on orbital angular momentum (OAM) properties of Laguerre–Gaussian beams LG(p,ℓ), a robust optical encoding model for efficient data transmission applications is designed. This paper presents an optical encoding model based on an intensity p

We investigate intermodal forward Brillouin scattering in a solid-core photonic crystal fiber (PCF), demonstrating efficient power conversion between the HE11 and HE21 modes, with a maximum gain coefficient of 21.4 W−1 km−1. By exploring mechanic

In this work, we will describe a Peer Project Learning assignment focused on the STEM project-based learning activities where students build a custom board game with a series of constraints that guide them to learn (and later teach) about the main co

We present a modified w avelength-resolved S 2 m ethod t hat a llows r ecovery of highly-dispersive modes. We employed this method using a variable window spectrogram to characterize a hollow core photonic crystal fiber where several surface-modes ar

We have characterized the high-order mode content in a 7-cell hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber using an interferometric technique, obtaining beating amplitude of −13.3 dB for center launch and −5.1 dB for 8 µm offset.
