Thirty-three species of aphids are now established in New Caledonia. All species appear to have been introduced accidentally by human activity in the last century. Here, 17 aphid species are recorded for the first time: Aphis eugeniae, Aphis glycines

BACKGROUND:Many studies have shown the suitability of sequence variation in the 5' region of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) gene as a DNA barcode for the identification of species in a wide range of animal groups. We examined 471 spec

BackgroundDNA barcoding, the analysis of sequence variation in the 5' region of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) gene, has been shown to provide an efficient method for the identification of species in a wide range of animal taxa. In or

Two hundred and sixty-two adventive aphids (Hemiptera: Aphidoidea) have been previously reported in North America north of Mexico. We update this to include 25 previously unrecorded species, and include information on the location and date of first d

We describe the wingless viviparae and sexual forms of Aphis carverae sp. nov., a new endemic species of Aphis Linnaeus, 1758 from Australia. The species is holocyclic and monoecious on Epilobium (Onagraceae). No winged individuals have been found. C

Aphis gossypii Glover is cosmopolitan pest aphid, known to be represented by host-associated lineages. Although it is widespread in the Pacific Basin, there has been no assessment of this species in this region. We examined patterns of morphological
