The effects of particle morphology and initial density is examined with respect to the shock densification response of initially porous metal (Cu) and metal-oxide (CeO2) materials. Specifically, the ability of a continuum-level compaction model to ca

V-T theory is constructed in the many-body Hamiltonian formulation, and differs at the foundation from current liquid dynamics theories. In V-T theory the liquid atomic motion consists of two contributions, normal mode vibrations in a single represen

The increase in number of deployed satellite constellations and the improvement in sensing capabilities have led to large volumes of data with a wide range of temporal and spatial coverage. The data analysis capability, however, has been lagging, and
In V-T theory the atomic motion is harmonic vibrations in a liquid-specific potential energy valley, plus transits, which move the system rapidly among the multitude of such valleys. In its first application to the self intermediate scattering functi

Recent efforts have focused on developing a solid-liquid and three-phase equation of state (EOS) for CeO2, while parallel experimental efforts have focused on obtaining high-fidelity Hugoniot measurements on CeO2 in the porous state. The current work

I describe an equation of state (EOS) for the low-pressure solid phase and liquid phase of cerium (IV) oxide, CeO2. The models and parameters used to calculate the EOS are presented in detail, and I compare with data for the full-density crystal. Hug

The proof of the Heisenberg uncertainty relation is modified to produce two improvements: (a) the resulting inequality is stronger because it includes the covariance between the two observables, and (b) the proof lifts certain restrictions on the sta

We contruct and study a continuous family of representations of the N-dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator (N≥2) which are not unitarily equivalent to the standard one. We explain why such representations exist and we investigate their simpler
