This study establishes a generic fitting approach to assignment of nanotube chiralities based on radial breathing mode frequencies (ω RBM) of SWCNTs in as-produced bundles. Four laser lines with energies of 2.62 eV, 2.33 eV, 1.88 eV and 1.58 eV were

Ultrasonication is widely used for preparing Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (SWNT) dispersions in different solvent media and it has been shown to play a critical role in dispersing and debundling SWNTs. The strong shear force that can exfoliate the S

Dispersions of as-produced HiPco single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in a series of organic solvents were prepared by dilution with the aid of tip sonication. Mild centrifugation (~ 945 g) was carried out to remove large bundles. Atomic force micr

A systematic study of the effect of a series of organic solvents on the dispersion of as-produced HiPco single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) has been conducted. UV−vis−NIR absorption spectroscopy coupled with an integrating sphere was employed

Interactions between arc discharge single-walled carbon nanotubes within polymer composites have been well documented. Here hybrid systems of the conjugated organic polymer poly(p-phenylene vinylene-co-2,5-dioctyloxy-m-phenylene vinylene) (PmPV) and

This work involves the purification and isolation of arc-discharge and HiPco SWNTs using two different systems. The first involves the use of conjugated polymers such as PmPV to selectively isolate certain tubes. The second uses SWNT as templates for

Photoluminescence intensity PL measurements were taken for a range of PmPV concentrations, in which HiPco single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) at 100%, 10%, 1%, 0.1%, 0.01% and 0% mass fractions were added. The PL intensity of the composite was sho

Samples of raw nanotubes are compared to those deposited from solutions to examine separation of nanotube bundles. Single wall nanotubes bundles produced by the arc-discharge and HiPco methods were solubilised in toluene, DMF and 1,2 dichloroethane.
