Increased risk of premature cardiovascular disease in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is not well understood, but in animal models, the Janus kinase inhibitor tofacitinib improves related phenotypes. Here the authors report a Phase 1 double-blind

ObjectivesPremature cardiovascular events in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) contribute to morbidity and mortality, with no effective preventive strategies described to date. Immune dysregulation and metabolic disturbances appear to play prominent

Objective Autoreactive IgE antibodies have been implicated in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We hypothesize that omalizumab, a monoclonal antibody binding IgE, may improve SLE activity by reducing type I interferon (IFN) prod

Increased risk of premature cardiovascular disease (CVD) is well recognized in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Aberrant type I-Interferon (IFN)-neutrophil interactions contribute to this enhanced CVD risk. In lupus animal models, the Janus kinase

Background The care for patients with lupus is complex as they may exhibit multiple concomitant medical and socioeconomic issues. To address all their needs according to the current guidelines is a daunting task in busy outpatient practices. However,

Background Previous evidence indicates a putative pathogenic role for IgE autoantibodies in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We hypothesized that Omalizumab, a monoclonal antibody that binds IgE, will reduce SLE activity by decreasing circulating

Poster session 7: New drugs and trageted therapy.
Background Studies performed in Lyn-/- mice indicate that IgE autoantibodies induce a lupus nephritis-like disease. In SLE, these autoantibodies are associated with increased disease activity. We propose that omalizumab, a monoclonal antibody that bi
