The World Summit on Sustainable Development (Johannesburg, 2002) encouraged the application of the ecosystem approach by 2010. However, at the same Summit, the signatory States undertook to restore and exploit their stocks at maximum sustainable yiel

We consider sustainable management issues formulated within the framework of control theory. The problem is one of controlling a discrete--time dynamical system (e.g. population model) in the presence of state and control constraints, representing co

International audience; In a similar spirit of the extension of the proximal point method developed by Alves et al. [2], we propose in this work an Inertial-Relaxed primal-dual splitting method to address the problem of decomposing the minimization o

This work gives complete expressions of inertia of matrices involved in a linear subspace of R n × R n when they are presented in two different ways, specifically, as image and as well as kernel of...

Primal or dual strong-duality (or min-sup, inf-max duality) in nonconvex optimization is revisited in view of recent literature on the subject, establishing, in particular, new characterizations for the second case. This gives rise to a new class of

We study a routing-collecting problem where a system of stations is considered. A vehicle is responsible for collecting information generated continuously in the stations and to deliver it to a base station. The objective is to determine the vehicle

We consider an optimal infinite horizon calculus of variations problem linear with respect to the velocities. In this framework the Euler---Lagrange equation are known to be algebraic and thus no informative for the general optimal solutions. We prov

A proof based on the axiom of choice shows that any monotone map has maximal mono- tone extensions but this proof is not constructive. In this paper, we give a construction of such an extension. The process is based on some density properties of (max
