The cross section for the process e+e− → multihadrons has been measured at the highest PETRA energies. We measure R (the total cross section in units of the point-like e+e- → μ+μ- cross section) to be 2.9 ± 0.7, 4.0 ± 0.5, 4.6 ± 0.4 and 4.

Hadronic two body decays of the 3.1 GeV resonance were measured and the following branching ratios were obtained: Γπ+π−/Γμμ Γ p p / Γ μ μμ = 0.036 ± 0.010 assuming the p p decay distribution is ≈ + cos2θ.

The total cross section for K ± production in e + e − collisions was measured for cms energies between 3.6 and 5 GeV and was found to increase by a factor of 2–3 from 3.6 to 4.1 GeV.
