We present a general theory of thermalization of light in multimode optical fibers, including optical beams with nonzero orbital angular momentum or vortex beams. A generalized Rayleigh-Jeans distribution of asymptotic mode composition is obtained, b

We present here a detailed study of the mode composition of an Er-doped ring self-sweeping fiber laser. Time-resolved heterodyne measurements prove that the radiation consists of slightly overlapping rectangular mode packets, each of which correspond

Raman dissipative solitons (RDS) have been investigated numerically. It was found that the area of stable generation is bounded in terms of pump spectral bandwidth and pulse energy. Existing optimum is strongly affected by the net cavity dispersion.

Multimode optical fibers (MMF) recently attracted a renewed attention, because of their potential for spatial division multiplexing, medical imaging and high-power fiber lasers, thanks to the discovery of new nonlinear optical effects, such as Kerr b

We propose the new, to the best of our knowledge, distributed mathematical model of dissipative soliton evolution in ultra-long fiber lasers. The model is based on a modified Ginzburg–Landau equation, has a stable analytical solution, and takes int

Random lasers utilize multiple scattering in disordered amplifying medium which provides necessary feedback even in the absence of resonant cavity. 1D random lasing via Rayleigh backscattering in single-mode fibers (SMF) with pump-induced Raman gain

Traditional wave kinetics describes the slow evolution of systems with many degrees of freedom to equilibrium via numerous weak non-linear interactions and fails for very important class of dissipative (active) optical systems with cyclic gain and lo

We propose the method of analytical prediction of stable generation area in ultra-long dissipative fiber laser. The method is based on highly-chirped analytical solution of Ginzburg-Landau equation with the gain saturation and saturable absorption.
