Treatment of Pisum sativum (L.) cv. `Sparkle9 with ethyl methanesulfonic acid (EMS) produced a stable mutant, E135F, which forms small, white, ineffective nodules. These nodules exhibit histological zonation typical of an indeterminant nodule, e.g. m
