Boron carbide has unique physicochemical and mechanical properties such as: high modulus of elasticity, high value of a strength-to-density ratio, heightened wear-resistance in unfriendly environment, etc., however dense product of boron carbide is n

The low-frequency charge capacitance for semiconductor boron samples proves to be ten times higher in comparison with the geometrical value calculated from the sample sizes under the assumption of material homogeneity. The explanation to the observab

Real structure and some physicomechanical characteristics of the samples of natural beta-rhombohedral boron B as well as of its {sup 10}B and {sup 11}B monoisotopes have been studied. It was shown that the influence of {sup 10}B and {sup 11}B isotope

Temperature and amplitude dependences of dynamic shear modulus (SM) and of internal friction (IF) have been measured on boron carbide samples with different carbon content. The samples were investigated at frequencies of torsion oscillations from 0.5

It is shown that the isotopic composition has a noticeable effect on the melting parameters of boron. The differences in melting temperature and enthalpy of the monoisotopes 10B and 11B are estimated at ∼16 K and ∼0.0021 eV/at, respectively.
