To improve the catalytic performance of red mud (RM) for slurry-phase hydrocracking of vacuum residue, macro-mesoporosity was introduced into RM using polystyrene and Pluronic F-127 as co-templates in this study. The obtained macro-mesoporous red mud

A disposable iron-based catalyst, red mud, was modified by different dissolution-precipitation methods. The catalysts obtained were characterized by nitrogen adsorption, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and ammonia temperature-program

In this study, red mud (RM) was used as a catalyst in slurry-phase hydrocracking of vacuum residue (VR) in batch system. Without RM, thermal cracking occurred and a lighter fraction and higher conversion was achieved than in the presence of catalyst.

Molybdenum nitrides were prepared by temperature-programmed reduction of MoO3 with flowing NH3. They were tested for indole HDN and benzothiophene HDS. Too low or high NH3 space velocity was inadequate to produce high surface area Mo nitride. The tem

Temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) spectroscopy was used to characterize the desorption of H2 from γ-Al2O3-supported samples prepared from {Pt[W(CO)3(C5H5)]2(PhCN)2} and {Pt2W2(CO)6(C5H5)2(PPh3)2} as well as those prepared from [PtCl2(PhCN)2] a

Samples of Pt on γ-Al2O3 were prepared by reduction in H2 at 400°C of [PtCl2(PhCN)2], adsorbed intact from n-pentane solution onto γ-Al2O3 powder that had been partially dehydroxylated under vacuum at 400°C. The Pt dispersion was determined to be

γ-Al2O3-supported catalysts were prepared from molecular bimetallic precursors, {Pt[W(CO)3(C5H5)]2(PhCN)2} and {Pt2W2(CO)6(C5H5)2(PPh3)2}; samples for comparison were prepared from mononuclear precursors, [PtCl2(PhCN)2] or a mixture of [PtCl2(PhCN)2
Pd-only three-way catalysts containing bulk ceria and/or stabilized ceria (CeO2-ZrO2) and promoters such as V and Zr were prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by three- way catalytic performances test, X-ray diffraction, BET surface area and
