We study cross-relaxation-based magnetometry in ensembles of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers using the protocol suggested by Akhmedzhanov et al. [R. Akhmedzhanov, L. Gushchin, N. Nizov, V. Nizov, D. Sobgayda, I. Zelensky, and P. Hemmer, Microwave-free

We report the first observation of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in an isotopically purified ${\mathrm{Nd}}^{3+}:{\mathrm{YLiF}}_{4}$ crystal. This crystal demonstrates inhomogeneous broadening of optical transitions of about 35 MHz.

We study cross-relaxation resonances between differently oriented groups of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers at small external magnetic fields. These resonances are observed using resonant optical pumping on the NV-center zero phonon line. We suggest a

We study optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) in diamond ${\mathrm{NV}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ centers at cryogenic temperatures. We find that when we use resonant optical excitation at zero phonon line wavelength, turning on microwave radiation l

We analyze the single-qubit gates based on off-resonant Raman interaction when they are applied to qubits implemented as ensembles of active centers. We propose a new scheme which can be used to significantly decrease the influence of inhomogeneous b

In this work we present an implementation of cavity-assisted atomic frequency comb (AFC) memory protocol in an isotopically pure 143Nd3+ :YLiF4 crystal. We use a tunable confocal Fabry–Perot cavity that is placed inside the cryostat. For a 1 mm thi

We implemented the atomic frequency comb protocol for optical quantum memory in an isotopically pure crystal of Y7LiF4 doped by 143Nd3+ ions. Echo signals were observed on the 4I9/2(1)–4F3/2(1) transition, which had inhomogeneous broadening much sm

In this paper we analyze the fidelity of single-qubit gates based on off-resonant Raman interaction when they are applied to qubits implemented as ensembles of active centers. In particular, we investigate the additional errors induced by the inhomog
