Many bacterial pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, require inosine 5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) for infection, making this enzyme a promising new target for antibiotics. Although potent selective inhibitors of bacterial IMPDHs have

New drugs and new targets are urgently needed to treat tuberculosis. We discovered the D-phenylalanine-benzoxazole Q112 displays potent antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) in multiple media and in macrophage infections. Me

Inosine 5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) catalyzes the pivotal step in guanine nucleotide biosynthesis. IMPDH is a target for immunosuppressive, antiviral, and anticancer drugs, but, as of yet, has not been exploited for antimicrobial therapy.
