We report a compact thin-disk Yb:KYW regenerative amplifier system. Two different concepts are investigated to obtain either subpicosecond pulses with up to 160 μJ or a pulse energy of 20 μJ with a pulse width of about 300 fs. The first concept use

Pulses with an energy of 116 µJ and 250 fs pulse duration at a repetition rate of 40 kHz are demonstrated. Special technique is applied to compensate the astigmatism of the laser crystal.

We present design principles for ultrafast Yb:KYW thin-disk amplifiers providing ultrashort pulses with high energies at high repetition rates. Without using a conventional stretcher, 10 /spl mu/J, 300 fs pulses were generated at 200 kHz repetition r

We report of an improved Yb:KYW thin disk amplifier system to provide ultra short pulses with high energies at high repetition rates. Without using CPA, 100-µJ, 750-fs pulses were generated with up to 45 kHz.

Within the EUREKA-project EU 2359 (Instruments and Standard Test Procedures for Laser Beam and Optics Characterization) a "Round-Robin"-experiment on reflectivity measurements at the wavelength λ = 1.06 μm has been carried out. The topic of this "R

We demonstrate the potential of an Yb: KYW thin disk regenerative amplifier to provide ultra short pulses with high energies. The thin disk concept uses large laser beam cross sections to avoid high peak intensities. Without using the chirped pulse a
