A formalism is presented which allows the quantitative evaluation of data from grazing-incidence small-angle neutron and X-ray scattering – GISANS and GISAXS – in the framework of the distorted wave Born approximation. While several aspects have

Surface Relief Gratings (SRGs) are inscribed in the Au-coated azobenzene containing photosensitive polymer films on a glass substrate. The structures consist of micrometer-period sinusoidal patterns of sub-micron amplitudes, formed by photo-isomeriza

Azo-modified photosensitive polymers offer the interesting possibility to reshape bulk polymers and thin films by UV-irradiation while being in the solid glassy state. The polymer undergoes considerable mass transport under irradiation with a light i

We study the magnetic correlations in Er|Tb superlattices by means of off-specular scattering of polarized neutrons. We show here the co-existence of inhomogeneous magnetic states: i) ferromagnetic order of moments within the Tb layers below 230 K (F

We study the magnetization of antiferromagnetically (AF) coupled Fe/Cr multilayers, with 7 and 19 periods respectively, under the influence of an external magnetic field. Due to the odd number of Fe layers the uncompensated magnetization of the multi
