We describe a solid-state Diels–Alder reaction where crystal engineering was used to design a reaction site yielding one regioisomer. Reaction was followed with SCXRD, compared to solution synthesis and rationalised using computational modelling.

Molecular symmetry is intimately connected with the classical concept ofthree-dimensional molecular structure. In a non-classical theory of wave-like interactionin four-dimensional space-time, both of these concepts and traditional quantum mechanicsl

The mixed-ligand [Pt(phen)(L1-κS)2] complex, in which two N,N-diethyl-N′-1-naphthoylthioureato ligands (L1)− coordinate in an unusual κS-thio/amido mode, crystallises in two solvatomorphs, form I and form II, whose structures have been determin

A series of ten ternary complexes, consisting of a charge transfer binary complex hydrogen bonded to a third component, are synthesized using neutral and charge-assisted hydrogen bonding. The colours of the ternary complexes change from yellow to ora

The synergic role of hydrophobicity and H-bonding for guest-insertion, and its sustenance within sponge-voids, was explained through structure-elucidation of comparative guest molecules. Guest dithiin-compounds with varying side groups’ functionali
