The dynamic range of optical fiber refractive index sensors is mainly determined by the refractive index (RI) of the sensor surface in contact with the sample under test. In case of the refractive index sensor based on the hybrid fiber Fabry–Perot

A fiber optic strain sensor, based on the Vernier effect, was constructed using two parallel MZIs. The strain sensitivity of one MZI was 0.84 pm/µε, using this configuration the sensitivity increased up to 13.00 pm/µε.

We report an easy-to-build, compact, and low-cost optical fiber refractive index sensor. It consists of a single fiber loop whose transmission spectra exhibit a series of notches produced by the resonant coupling between the fundamental mode and the

Graphene-based materials are capable of enhancing the refractometric response of prism- and optical fiber-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors; however, complicated multistep and time-consuming attaching processes could limit their practical

An optical fiber tip interferometer for the measurement of relative humidity (RH) and temperature is proposed. The optical fiber structure used, a dual-cavity optical fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (DFFPI), is simply-to-fabricate, compact, and robu

The output signal of Mach-Zehnder curvature sensor was Fourier transformed to increase its curvature range to high value of 1.69 m-1, relative to the traditional fringe contrast measurement 1.09 m-1.
