Abstract Combustion research requires the use of state of the art diagnostic tools, including high energy lasers and gated, cooled CCDs. However, these tools may present a cost barrier for laboratories with limited resources. While the cost of high e

The generation of single photons serves as the backbone for tasks in quantum information processing. Generating quantum electromagnetic fields on highly dispersive platforms is technically challenging, though, due to phase-matching constraints. The a

Promising narrow linewidth photoluminescence with a FWHM of 7.1 nm at wavelength 418 nm was achieved at room temperature from InGaN/GaN quantum dots in a 20-nm-diameter top-down fabricated nanowire.

A previous study investigated how horizon measurement uncertainty leads to errors in annual irradiance calculations. Those results were based upon determining shading for whole hour periods by testing whether the mid-hour point fell below the horizon

Planning for solar power installations requires assessment of potential shading by nearby obstacles on the horizon. A degree of uncertainty exists in measurements of the horizon from the point-of-view of the proposed solar collector. This uncertainty
