A set of deep neural network models for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) classification using a highway network, a convolutional neural network and a residual network is proposed based on the data of diffuse optical tomography (DOT) utilising near-infrared

The resolution of images recovered using diffuse optical tomography without spatial prior information is inherently limited due to the diffusive nature of light transport in scattering dominated biological tissue. Several studies have previously repo

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) affects a significant portion of the population, but early treatment can improve patient outcomes. A low-cost, streamlined system has been developed for monitoring the progression of RA and inform treatment during this criti

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory joint disease often affecting the hands, which if untreated causes disability. Diffuse optical tomography (DOT) provides information about the underlying functional properties of biological tissue. To dete

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an auto-inflammatory disease that causes pain, swelling and stiffness in joints. Diffuse optical tomography (DOT) has shown promise as a non-invasive, diagnostic imaging tool for RA. However high inter-subject variability

The Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) has not been adopted as a mainstream monitoring modality in acute neurosurgical care due to concerns about its reliability and consistency. However, improvements in NIRS parameter recovery techniques are now avai

Changes in 3D pathophysiological images for healthy finger joints during cuff occlusion are presented, recovered using multispectral diffuse optical tomography, to evaluate its potential use for early detection of rheumatoid arthritis.

Spectrally constrained diffuse optical tomography (SCDOT) is known to improve reconstruction in diffuse optical imaging; constraining the reconstruction by coupling the optical properties across multiple wavelengths suppresses artefacts in the result

A multispectral diffuse optical tomography system for diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis is presented. Images from healthy subjects show good consistency between finger joints from the same participant but increased intra-subject variation.
