Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by ultraviolet (λ=248 nm) laser ablation of an aerosol of micron-sized source particles entrained in nitrogen. As a result of thermionic electron emission and photoionization, nanoparticles produced in this mann

We study a new method for producing ultrafine metal particles (nanopartides) that employs Laser Ablation of Microparticles (LAM). Pulsed excimer laser radiation at 248 nm wavelength was used to ablate ~2 μm feedstock of silver, gold, andpermalloy (N

We study a new method for producing ultrafine particles (nanoparticles) that employs pulsed-laser ablation of microparticles. Pulsed Nd:YAG laser radiation, 10-ns pulses at 1064 nm, was used to ablate 20-/spl mu/m glass microspheres; and pulsed excim
