A repetitively rated microwave oscillator whose frequency can be varied electronically from pulse to pulse in a predetermined manner is created for the first time. The microwave oscillator has a power on the order of 108 W and is based on the Cherenk

An original relativistic backward tube (BWT) for a 38 GHz range is developed and tested. The BWT is capable of generating stable pulses of ∼250 ps duration and a peak power of ∼250 MW in trains with a length of up to 1 s at a repetition rate of 1

The generation of microwave pulses in a 10-GHz range has been studied in a nonstationary relativistic backward wave oscillator (BWO) operating at a pulse train repetition rate of up to 300 Hz. Regimes with a stabilized phase of the high-frequency fil

Recent studies of the generation of GW-level nanosecond microwave pulses in extended BWO-type slow-wave structures have been showed an opportunity for stabilization of the RF field phase. Decline in the dependence of the output microwave power on the

Summary form only given, as follows. Producing HPM emission at high pulse repetition rates requires strong magnetic fields, which commonly employs superconductive systems. Realizing batch high rep-rate regimes allows utilization of quasi steady-state

We have developed a relativistic Ka-band backward wave oscillator (BWO) capable of generating stable 250-ps pulses of peak power up to 300 MW. The BWO operates in a 1-s burst mode at a PRF of 1–3.5 kHz.

Generation of high-power microwave (HPM) pulses at high pulse rates requires strong magnetic fields, which are commonly produced in superconductive cryomagnets. Batch operation of HPM sources allows the use of quasi-stable magnetic field produced in
