A cryogenic Faraday isolator based on terbium-gallium garnet (TGG) ceramics has been designed and studied in experiments. Its performance capabilities at the laser radiation power of 435 W are demonstrated, and our models suggest that the isolator sh

We describe a cryogenic Faraday isolator with a gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) crystal used for the first time as a magneto-optic element. Simultaneous compensation of thermally induced depolarization and thermal lensing using FK51 glass is demonstr

A Faraday isolator is described in which thermal effects are suppressed by cooling down to liquid nitrogen temperatures. The principal scheme, main characteristics and modifications of the isolator are presented. The isolation degree is studied exper

Faraday rotators with short magneto-optical elements are created and experimentally studied. The magneto-optical elements are made three to four times shorter either by cooling them to nitrogen temperatures or by increasing the magnetic field. These

It is shown experimentally that cooling of a Faraday isolator to liquid nitrogen temperature considerably suppresses the thermally induced depolarisation and reduces the thermal lens. This leads to an increase in the maximum average laser radiation p

A terbium gallium garnet (TGG) ceramic Faraday rotator (FR) with an isolation ratio of 33 dB was demonstrated at a laser radiation power of 257 W. This FR can be equipped with a large optical aperture by using ceramics technology to prevent laser dam

A 35 dB Faraday isolator under kW-level laser radiation was demonstrated using a TGG ceramic with water cooling and compensation for thermally-induced depolarization. This isolator is scalable to large apertures for kJ pulse laser systems.
