Temporal multiplexing or demultiplexing of quantum signals would benefit from low-loss, high speed, high rate, and low noise switches. Fiber cross-phase-modulation based switches are a promising solution, but their maximum switching rate is usually l

We analyze using sum-frequency generation as a tool to linearize photonic links. Interferometrically demodulated links can show a 6.8 dB increased dynamic range over 500 MHz bandwidth with a sub-3 dB reduction in noise figure.

We emulate a method for quantum key distribution (QKD) that employs up-conversion detection. The scheme uses differential quadrature phase shift modulation and actively chooses the measurement basis by applying a dynamic phase-shift on the pump of th

We demonstrate that second harmonic generation effectively doubles the modulation index of a phase modulator, and simulate a photonic down-conversion system that exploits the enhanced modulation index to improve linearity without substantially reduci

An optical analog-to-digital converter that uses pulses of multiple wavelengths to nonuniformly sample a microwave signal is used to determine an input microwave frequency to a high accuracy over a large frequency range. Measurement times of 4 μ s l
