Thirty group covariance data have been produced from ENDF/B VIII.0 MF 33 for H1, H2, He4, Li6, Li7, Be9, B10, B11, C12, C13, N15, O16, the JENDL O16 and F19. Multi-group cross section covariance data was produced by NJOY routine ERRORR. Negative eige

Mubar uncertainties in Section MF 34 MT 2 of ENDF/B-VIII.0 data are sometimes too large. Physical limitations of the bounds of mubar limit the maximum uncertainty to be < 1.0 and usually ≪ 1.0. Two ad hoc methods are proposed to artificially constr

With the recent release of ENDF/B VIII.0 data, additional covariance data was provided for many isotopes, including O16. The detail of elastic scattering and mubar covariance data for O16 increased dramatically between ENDF/B VII.1 and ENDF/B VIII.0.

In December 2011, the National Nuclear Data Center released ENDF/B-VII.1, the “latest recommended evaluated nuclear data file for use in nuclear science and technology applications.” The data were released in the standard Evaluated Nuclear Data F
Algorithms and software have been developed for producing variations in plutonium 239 neutron cross sections based on experimental uncertainties and covariances. The varied cross- section sets may be produced as random samples from the multi- variate

It all comes down to physics. This paper describes calculations using the discrete-ordinates codes PARTISN and DANTSYS as well as the stochastic code MCNP and various cross section sets to examine the critical mass of highly enriched uranium and high

We have continued the progression of providing benchmark-quality eigenvalue calculations in multi-region Cartesian geometry by reformulating the effective multiplication equations to calculate time eigenvalues. As with effective multiplication eigenv

In the nuclear engineering community, the error propagation of the Monte Carlo fission source distribution through cycles is known to be a linear Markov process when the number of histories per cycle is sufficiently large. In the statistics community

There are relatively few benchmark-quality solutions for effective multiplication calculations in multi-region multiplying systems. The purpose of this paper is to describe and add a benchmark-quality calculation for such test problems. Green's funct
