The novel 3-methyl-2,6-dip-toylpiperidine-4-one was acylated by 3-chloropropanoychloride and subjected for dehydrohalogenation. The synthesized compound was characterized by spectroscopic techniques and finally confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies.
