Infrared and Raman spectra are reported for the isotopic species trimethylphosphine-d 0 -d 3 , -d 6 , and -d 9 , including 13 C frequency shifts for the -d 0 , -d 6 , and -d 9 isotopomers. Fermi resonances affect a number of bands; these cases were a

IR spectra of the species GeHD 2 CH 2 F and GeHD 2 CH 2 Cl are reported which show two bands each, assigned to the solitary GeH bond either gauche or trans to the halogen atom, the splittings being 17 cm −1 (F) and 25.5 cm −1 (Cl), respectively.

The infrared spectra of /sup 16/CH/sub 3/, /sup 13/CH/sub 3/, /sup 12/CD/sub 3/, and /sup 13/CD/sub 3/ species of MeMn(CO)/sub 5/ and MeRe(CO)/sub 5/ have been studied in the gas phase to 450 cm/sup -1/ and in the solid at 78 K down to 200 cm/sup -1/

An earlier correlation between isolated CH stretching frequencies, v, and experimental CH bond dissociation energies, in hydrocarbons, fluorocarbons, and CHO compounds, is updated. A stabilization energy, E, which reflects only the properties of the

The infra-red intensities of the fundamental vibration bands of the four methyl halides have been measured, using the method involving pressure broadening of bands described by Wilson. The force constants have been determined on the basis of a force
