Helleborus caucasicus is a perennial herbaceous plant whose roots contain cardiac glycosides. The new compound hellecaucaside A was isolated from its roots. 2′-O-α-D-Ribofuranosyluridine, a structural fragment of hellecaucaside A, was synthesized.
