Recent experimental data for fully differential cross sections (FDCS) have been compared to various continuum-distorted-wave eikonal-initial-state (CDW-EIS) models without much success, despite good agreement with double-differential cross sections.

Phase-integral and Newton-Raphson methods are used to calculate real turning points, energy eigenvalues and hence quantum defects (μn,l). Stokes and anti-Stokes lines are traced using a complex Newton-Raphson method.

A general expression for the correlation time of the decay of the magnetization of an assembly of singledomain noninteracting ferromagnetic particles is given in terms of the inverse of the Fokker-Planck operator. The results of Moro and Nordio @G. M

A large-scale configuration interaction (CI) calculation using Program CIV3 of Hibbert is performed for the lowest 62 fine-structure levels of the singly charged chlorine ion. Our calculated energy levels agree very well with most of the NIST results

Nonlinear response of a uniaxially anisotropic superparamagnetic particle subjected to a dc bias and strong ac field is evaluated. For the third harmonic, a non-monotonic dependence of the response amplitude on the strength of the oscillating field (

A travelling molecular orbital approach is applied to the He2+-HHe+ + H+ charge transfer process, where translation factors have been determined variationally, and where all orders of impact velocity v have been preserved. Comparison with experiment

A more accurate variant of the semiclassical quantum-mechanical treatment of Crothers (1986 J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Phys. 19 463-83) has been used to reinvestigate the ionization cross sections of He by electron impact at an excess energy of 2 eV above

The effect of an applied magnetic field on the temperature at the maximum of the ZFC magnetization, $M_{ZFC}$, is studied using the recently obtained analytic results of Coffey et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 80}(1998) 5655) for the prefactor of the N\
