This volume is dedicated to the memory of Harold Widom (1932–2021), an outstanding mathematician who has enriched mathematics with his ideas and ground breaking work since the 1950s until the present time. It contains a biography of Harold Widom,

Building on previous work of the authors, we here derive the weak coupling asymptotics to order γ2 of the ground state energy of the deltafunction Fermi gas. We use a method that can be applied to a large class of finite convolution operators.

In earlier work (arXiv:1707.04927) the authors obtained formulas for the probability in the asymmetric simple exclusion process that at time $t$ a particle is at site $x$ and is the beginning of a block of $L$ consecutive particles. Here we consider

In the theory of the two-dimensional Ising model, the diagonal susceptibility is equal to a sum involving Toeplitz determinants. In terms of a parameter k the diagonal susceptibility is analytic for |k| < 1, and the authors proved the conjecture that

In this paper we find explicit formulas for: (1) Green's function for a system of one-dimensional bosons interacting via a delta-function potential with particles confined to the positive half-line; and (2) the transition probability for the one-dime

The weak coupling asymptotics, to order $(c/\rho)^2$, of the ground state energy of the delta-function Bose gasmis derived. Here $2c\ge 0$ is the delta-function potential amplitude and $\rho$ the density of the gas in the thermodynamic limit. The ana

The weak coupling asymptotics to order $\gamma$ of the ground state energy of the delta-function Fermi gas, derived heuristically in the literature, is here made rigorous. Further asymptotics are in principle computable. The analysis applies to the G
