At present, the GDT facility of the Budker Institute Novosibirsk, which is an axially symmetric magnetic mirror device of gas dynamic trap type, is being upgraded. The first stage of the upgrade is the Synthesised Hot Ion Plasmoid (SHIP) experiment.
