We have designed and modeled a novel optical system composed of a Laue lens coupled to an x-ray tube that produces a focused beam in an energy range near 100 keV (λ = 12.4 picometer). One application of this system is radiation therapy where it coul

Laue lenses use Bragg diffraction to concentrate soft γ -rays onto a detector. This decoupling of the collecting area from the detector volume can generate a significant increase in sensitivity for applications in astrophysics and nuclear medicine.

Thermal yellowing and photobleaching are common problems that are seen to some extent in all automotive topcoat systems today. These effects can cause difficulties in the matching of light colors in the assembly plant and then later upon delivery to

The Laue lens is an emerging technology that uses crystal diffraction to concentrate gamma-rays. The Darwin model describes diffraction in mosaic crystals at high energies (>50 keV) and is the basis for assessing the throughput of a Laue lens. While

A gamma-ray detector composed of a single 28×28×20 mm3 LaBr3:Ce crystal coupled to a custom built 4×4 array of silicon photomultipliers was tested over an energy range of 30 keV to 9.3 MeV. The silicon photomultipliers were initially calibrated us

For more than a decade, cosine has been developing silicon pore optics (SPO), lightweight modular X-ray optics made of stacks of bent and directly bonded silicon mirror plates. This technology, which has been selected by ESA to realize the optics of

Laue lenses constitute a promising option for concentrating soft gamma rays with a large collection area and reasonable focal lengths. In astronomy they could lead to increased telescope sensitivity by one to two orders of magnitude, in particular fo

The Laue lens is a developing technology for focusing soft gamma-rays, that is based on the principle of Bragg diffraction. A suitable arrangement of diffracting crystals is used to concentrate a set of parallel incoming photons onto a common focal s

A long and intense gamma-ray burst (GRB) was detected by INTEGRAL on July 11 2012 with a duration of ~115s and fluence of 2.8x10^-4 erg cm^-2 in the 20 keV-8 MeV energy range. GRB 120711A was at z~1.405 and produced soft gamma-ray emission (>20 keV)
