Megalake Chad (350,000 km2), the largest paleo-lake of the Sahara-Sahel area, is one of the most emblematic marker of the hydroclimatic changes that occurred during the African Humid Period (AHP; ca. 11,500 — 5,000 years BP) in subtropical Africa.

Lakes are common natural systems for which sedimentation is considered to be relatively simple, generally dominated by fluvial processes along the margin and prevailing low-energy settling in the central, deeper parts. However, for many lakes, higher

Deglacial sequences typically include backstepping grounding zone wedges and prevailing glaciomarine depositional facies. However, in coastal domains, deglacial sequences are dominated by depositional systems ranging from turbiditic to fluvial facies
