We experimentally demonstrate a silicon photonic O-band polarization splitter and rotator. The wafer-level extinction ratio over 80 nm bandwidth has an average of 21.82 dB and 19.05 dB for the upper and lower ports, respectively.

We present the first demonstration of a 4λ transmitter optical sub-assembly (TOSA) on the coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) grid, i.e., 20 nm spacing, targeting 400G-FR4 requirements over 2 km. The TOSA is based on uncooled InP external

Absolute laser frequency assignment in projected dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) networks has become a very important issue for standardization purposes. Recently, a proposal was made to the International Telecommunication Union suggest

Neodynium doped phosphate glass laser has been chosen as the gain medium of large laser facilities devoted to ignition such as NIF or LMJ [1] because it can be cast into a great variety of form and size with excellent homogeneity at relatively low co

We have recently proposed a referencing scale for multifrequency (WDM) optical communication systems with exact multiples of 100 GHz1. In such a system, the absolute frequency control of the sources is imperative since semiconductor lasers possess a

We have undertaken a research directed to the realization of frequency-stabilized lasers for multifrequency optical communications in the 375 THz, 229 THz, and 193 THz (0.8, 1.3, and 1.55 micrometers ) bands. In this paper, we present an overview of

The simultaneous use of many wavelengths will increase the throughput of point to point optical communication systems and lead to the development of networks where the routing is achieved using the wavelength values as the keys for identification.1 F
