Abstract Shocklets and short large‐amplitude magnetic structures (SLAMS) are steepened magnetic fluctuations commonly found in Earth's upstream foreshock. Here we present Venus Express observations from the 26th of February 2009 establishing their

The zodiacal cloud is one of the largest structures in the solar system and strongly governed by meteoroid collisions near the Sun. Collisional erosion occurs throughout the zodiacal cloud, yet it has been historically difficult to directly measure.

As the closest humanmade object to the sun, the Parker Solar Probe (PSP) is uniquely positioned to study inner heliospheric dust. The PSP/FIELDS instrument suite detects dust via short voltage pulses generated by the plasma clouds formed during hyper

Relativistic electron precipitation (REP) from the outer radiation belt into Earth's atmosphere poses risks for satellites and affects Earth's climate, producing ozone-destroying compounds. Characterizing the spatial extent of REP events, which are p

We report spectroscopy and photometry of the cataclysmic variable stars ASASSN-14ho and V1062 Cyg. Both are dwarf novae with spectra dominated by their secondary stars, which we classify as approxomately K4 and M0.5, respectively. Their orbital perio

Abstract Recent studies suggest that, despite its aurora‐like appearance, the picket fence may not be driven by magnetospheric particle precipitation but instead by local electric fields parallel to Earth's magnetic field. Here, we evaluate the par
