In this work, the aminolysis depolymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) PET was carried out with ethanolamine and several acetates as catalysts. The main product, bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalamide (BHETA), was identified from FTIR and 1H NMR.
