Modulation of exposed crystal facets enhances transferrin binding to chalcogenide nanocrystals and their subsequent delivery into cancer cells. Facet-dependent protein binding occurs through inner-sphere thiol complexation and is affected by the stru

Abstract Reduced graphene oxide/metal oxide (rGO/MO) hybrid has been widely used as a catalyst, while dissolved oxygen or radicals are generally recognized as the oxidant. This study finds that the adsorbed arsenite (As(III)) on rGO/MO is oxidized to

[Image: see text] Microorganisms contribute to the formation of secondary gold (Au) deposits through enzymatic reduction of Au(III) to Au(0). However, the enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of Au(III) remains enigmatic. Here, we identified and chara

Arsenic (As) contamination poses an urgent environmental risk, and its removal from groundwater remains a challenge due to the lack of efficient adsorbents. Herein, a novel granular chitosan-titanium (CS-Ti) adsorbent was fabricated by the sol-gel me

The shoulder feature for the white line (Sb K-edge) was ascribed to metal–ligand charge transfer transitions from Sb 1s to the unoccupied states of the carbon chains. Longer distance for charge transfer caused lower intensity of the shoulder peak.
