The reaction of [PhCCLi] n with Se metal (1:1 equivalents) in THF/TMEDA gives the insertion product [PhCCSeLi · TMEDA · THF] 1 , which is monomeric in the solid state. The reaction of PhCCPh with Li metal, generating dilithium tetraphenylb

The coordination of [(η-Cp)2Pb] and [(η-Cp)2Sn] by bidentate Lewis-base ligands gives the first examples of adducts of neutral p-block metallocenes. Ab initio MO calculations of [(η-Cp)2Pb·TMEDA] (1) (TMEDA = (Me2NCH2)2), [Cp2Pb·4,4‘-Me2bipy]

The reaction of [Sb(NMe2)3] with the sterically bulky amine [DippNH2] gives the unusual cis dimer [(Me2N)Sb(μ-NDipp)]2 1, containing a puckered Sb2N2 core. 1H NMR studies show that the cis conformation is retained in solution.

The in situ reactions of MCH2Ph (M = Na, K or Rb) with C6H11NH2 in toluene followed by the addition of the appropriate stoichiometric quantity of Sb(NMe2)3 gave the new heterobimetallic antimony(III)/alkali metal complexes [{Sb2(NC6H11)4}2Na4] and M[

A range of heterometallic cage complexes can be prepared by step-wise metallation reactions of monolithiated primary amines and phosphines ([REHLi]n; E= N, P) with various Group 13, 14 and 15 metal reagents. The p block imido and phosphinidine anions

Thermolysis of the heterobimetallic phosphinidene complex {[Sb(PCy)3]2- Li6·6HNMe2} (Cy = C6H11) at 303 to 313 kelvin gives Zintl compounds containing (Sb7)3−anions. The complex thus constitutes a stable molecular single-source precursor to Zintl
