We demonstrate a successful field trial of MIMO-DAS over multicore fiber (MCF) allowing for accurate localization of acoustic events in the city of L’Aquila, Italy. We show a 2m spatial resolution and 1mHz-380Hz acoustic bandwidth.

We report detection-localization-identification of true mechanical events on a buried fiber cable up to 82km SSMF using a digital sensing system copropagating with adjacent 600Gb/s WDM channels. Non-intrusive coexistence with WDM channels is demonstr

We introduce dual-polarization probing codes based on two circularly shifted frequency sweep signals enabling perfect channel estimation. This is achieved with a probing length equal to at least twice the fiber round-trip propagation time.

We introduce a coherent-MIMO Δϕ-OTDR based sensing technique that uses digital frequency division multiplexing of probing codes in order to mitigate the coherent fading issue in Δϕ-OTDR. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is used t
