The reaction of the 2′,3′-lyxoepoxide (1) with ammonium azide gives two products; namely, the 3′-arabino azide (2a) and in low yield 2′-xylo azide (3a). After debenzoylation and reduction the resulting mixture of amines was resolved by chroma
