Four species of Chaetosphaeria were collected during a survey on the biodiversity of microfungi growing on bark and decorticated wood of Podocarpus parlatorei in Argentina. A new variety, Chaetosphaeria hispida var. podocarpi, is proposed. Chaetospha

Freshwater fungi refer to the fungi that depend on the freshwater habitats for the whole life cycle or part of their life cycle. In this context, a new aquatic hyphomycete was isolated from decaying wood in a freshwater habitat in Jiangxi Province, C

Grasses are agriculturally, economically and ecologically dominant among plants. Their fungal diversity is fascinating but has been relatively poorly studied or restricted to a few important hosts or pathogens. Therefore, numerous grass-inhabiting fu

Chloridium is a little-studied group of soil- and wood-inhabiting dematiaceous hyphomycetes that share a rare mode of phialidic conidiogenesis on multiple loci. The genus has historically been divided into three morphological sections, i.e.Chloridium

Freshwater fungi are an integral part of freshwater ecosystems. They promote the carbon cycle of the ecosystem by decomposing wood substrates. Menisporopsis is a fungal genus of Chaetosphaeriales in Sordariomycetes, which has been commonly collected

The genus Menisporopsis S. Hughes is characterized by synnematous conidiomata around a central seta, phialidic conidiogenous cells and falcate to lunate 0- to 1-septate conidia with terminal setulae. Currently, nine species are included in the genus.
