In augmented reality, it is important to achieve visual consistency between inserted virtual objects and the real scene. As specular and transparent objects can produce caustics, which affect the appearance of inserted virtual objects, we herein prop

We have investigated the structure of the Hercules supercluster (SCL160) based on data originally extracted from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey SDSS-DR7. We have traced the mass distribution in the field through the numerical density-weighted by the $r

One possibility for detecting low-amplitude pulsational variations is through gravitational microlensing. During a microlensing event, the temporary brightness increase leads to improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio, and thereby better detectabili

We present an analysis of the intracluster light in the Frontier Field Cluster MACS J1149.5+2223 (z=0.544), which combines new and archival Hubble WFC3/IR imaging to provide continuous radial coverage out to 2.8 Mpc from the brightest cluster galaxy.

Achieving interactivity for applications with physically-accurate caustics is proven to be a challenging task. We present a hybrid method utilizing ray tracing and rasterization which enables water caustic coverage to vast view distance in real-time.
