Familial dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), clinically characterized by enlargement and dysfunction of one or both ventricles of the heart, can be caused by variants in sarcomeric genes including TNNC1 (encoding cardiac troponin C, cTnC). Here, we report

Mutations in TNNC1—the gene encoding cardiac troponin C (cTnC)—that have been associated with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and cardiac dysfunction may also affect Ca2+-regulation and function of slow skeletal muscle since the same gene is ex

Analysis of cardiac troponin I (cTn I) and T (cTnT) are considered the “gold standard” for the non-invasive diagnosis of myocardial injury in human and animals. It has replaced traditionally used cardiac biomarkers such as myoglobin, lactate dehy

Cardiac muscle thin filaments are composed of actin, tropomyosin, and troponin that change conformation in response to Ca2+ binding, triggering muscle contraction. Human cardiac troponin C (cTnC) is the Ca2+-sensing component of the thin filament. It
