International audience; Uranium is naturally present in seawater at trace levels and may in some cases be present at higher concentrations, due to anthropogenic nuclear activities. Understanding uranium speciation in seawater is thus essential for pr

Although the physiological impact of the actinide elements as nuclear toxicants has been widely investigated for half a century, a description of their interactions with biological molecules remains limited. It is however of primary importance to bet

The crystal structure was determined and the physicochemical properties were studied for tetrapropylammonium pertechnetate and perrhenate. Pr4NMO4 (M = Tc, Re) are isostructural and crystallize as colorless prismatic crystals in the orthorhombic syst

In the case of an accidental nuclear event, contamination of human bodies by actinide elements may occur. Such elements have the particularity to exhibit both radiological and chemical toxicities that may induce severe damages at several levels, depe

A new basic Nd3+ nitrate, [Nd6O(OH)8(H2O)14(NO3)6](NO3)2 · 2H2O (I), is isolated in the crystal form and studied. Compound I differs from the basic Ln nitrates containing [Ln 6O(OH)8] clusters in that it involves a larger number of water molecules.
