On-chip single-photon sources are key components for integrated photonic quantum technologies. Semiconductor quantum dots can exhibit near-ideal single-photon emission, but this can be significantly degraded in on-chip geometries owing to nearby etch

We report strongly non-reciprocal behaviour for quantum dot exciton spins coupled to nano-photonic waveguides under resonant laser excitation. A clear dependence of the transmission spectrum on the propagation direction is found for a chirally-couple

We demonstrate electro-mechanical control of an on-chip GaAs optical beam splitter containing a quantum dot single-photon source. The beam splitter consists of two nanobeam waveguides, which form a directional coupler (DC). The splitting ratio of the

We demonstrate on-chip routing of single photons using a III-V semiconductor-based electro-mechanical system with embedded quantum dots. Switching is achieved by electro-mechanical actuation of an integrated directional coupler.

We have performed Monte Carlo simulations to investigate the temperature dependence of the ordering of the side chains of the X-shape liquid crystal molecules which are arranged in a hexagonal array. Each hexagon contains six side chains, one from ea

Using a novel two-pulse resonance fluorescence technique we demonstrate a Purcell factor of ∼35 in a cavity quantum dot system. Highly coherent single photons are efficiently emitted into a waveguide, forming a near-ideal source for integrated quan

Electrical control of on-chip routing of photons emitted by a single InAs/GaAs self-assembled quantum dot (SAQD) is demonstrated in a photonic crystal cavity-waveguide system. The SAQD is located inside an H1 cavity, which is coupled to two photonic

The effects of polyethyleneimine, electrolyte concentration and pH on the electrophoretic mobility values for whole yeast, yeast homogenate and borax clarified homogenate were observed. The polyethyleneimine concentration at which there is optimum cl
