We present cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED) effects in electrically driven high quality (high-Q) quantum dot-micropillar cavities. An optimized current injection scheme is employed, which enables simultaneously efficient electrical pumping and e

Reducing the threshold power and the active material are key issues in the development of semi-conductor lasers. Considerable advances have been achieved in this field by combining high quality microre-sonators with self assembled quantum dots as the

We report the observation of high- Q whispering gallery modes ( Q > 10 000) in GaAs/AlAs pillar microcavities containing InAs quantum dots as an internal probe. A simple model based on the effective index method describes precisely the evolution of t

We present a combined experimental and theoretical study of the polarization-dependent strong-coupling regime between two quantum dots and an asymmetric micropillar cavity. The photoluminescence emission demonstrates that the fundamental cavity mode

We realized high-quality electrically pumped mircopillar cavities featuring pronounced cQED effects, such as weak coupling and high-beta lasing. The high quality of the electrically contacted micropillars allowed the observation of strong coupling vi

We report time-resolved photoluminescence investigations of as-grown wurtzite InP nanowires $({d}_{\text{av}}=16\text{ }\text{nm})$ on a (111) silicon substrate as a function of emission energy, temperature, and excitation fluence. The observed lumin

We report on electrically driven quantum dot micropillar cavities with quality factors (Q-factors) up to 16.000. A special lateral current injection scheme into small mode volume micropillars is employed which ensures an efficient light outcoupling.

We present optical studies of single InP nanowires. The nanowires show small emission linewidths as low as 2.3 meV and a low surface recombination velocity. HF passivation results in a strong increase of PL intensity.
